The group Let ‘Em Work, Let ‘Em Play aims to make an exception in municipal ordinance to let underage performers work in bars. Most music venues in Anchorage are 21+ establishments and teen musicians currently have very few options when it comes to live performances.

Despite a fair amount of support from assembly members, state liquor laws would supersede any changes in municipal code. The group plans to take it to the state legislature once successful on the local level.
